The Druze Villages

The nearby Druze villages of Daliat el-Carmel and Ussafiya introduce visitors to Druze culture. In Daliat el-Carmel, there is a colorful market offering Druze handcrafts, traditional food, Druze pita bread and more. Tours of the village's ancient quarter and the Legacy House are also available. Ussafiya houses the Center for Bedouin Heritage "Albadia," which offers Bedouin hospitality in a traditional tent encampment with real life stories about members of the tribe, its religion and traditions, as well as workshops and children's activities. A short distance from the Druze villages stands the Muhraka, a Carmelite monastery, which, according to tradition, constitutes the place where Prophet Elijah battled the Baal Prophets.
