Tour no. 7:  Mercaz ha Carmel (the Carmel Center) to Hadar on the Carmel

There are some parts of the Carmel area of the city which are inter-connected to each another by wide and bustling roads. But, on the other hand, there are also many paths suitable for seasoned walkers as well. For those of you who like walking, just climb down the steps from the Mercaz ha Carmel (the Carmel Center) to the neighbourhood of Hadar ha Carmel and continue along until you reach the area known as Down Town. If you do the whole walk in one go, you will be able to enjoy the fascinating mosaic which defines this area. There are the compact residential neighborhoods. There are the houses designed in a large variety of different styles, the small private gardens and public parks, and the wide avenues and trees which line the paved sidewalks.

The tour route:  the Mercaz Panorama observation balcony – Downes House with its war commemoration corner – the Allenby Gardens – the Bnai Zion Medical Center – Bar Giora St – the ‘Glass House’ – the corner for rest and repose, Balfour Rd., Weizmann House – the BOSMAT school network – which was formerly the naval school. The National  Museumof Science, Planning and Technology – the Town Hall and the law courts – the Gardens of Remembrance – The Solel Boneh Square – and the Majdalani Houses.
