The wine road is a reconstruction project of Hameyasdim Street, the colony’s main street, and a unique construction characteristic of the barons’ colonies. The houses’ facades were restored and interlaced with characteristic building elements, such as wooden window frames, tiled roofs, stone and wood fences, street lanterns and more.
The typical structure of a peasant’s barn yard had been preserved, and each yard along the road is of a unique commercial nature. The wine road commences at the cemetery and the Visitors Centre and ends at the “Carmel Mizrachi” wineries. Most of Zichron Yaakov's historical sites are found along the road. “Wine Road” has lately become a centre of attraction for the many visitors who enjoy the unique atmosphere, coffee shops and paintings scattered along the road, galleries and restaurants. Art fairs and street and artist exhibitions are held each Friday throughout the year. Festivals are held at Passover and the intermediate days of the holidays.
