At the heart of the Carmel station neighborhood, a predominately Christian Arab neighborhood currently neglected, runs the street of al-Atiqa.
Directly below the railway track, an interesting burial cave carved in coarse sand and dates back to the time of the Second Temple can be seen.

he burial cave was partially destroyed by a contractor during some building works in the area, but was later reconstructed.
