The centre was established as a tourist, commercial and leisure centre. It constitutes a lever for the establishment of a new economical branch in the city, in areas such as commercial tourism, congresses, exhibitions and large scale concerts and events.

Haifa’s Municipal Theater was founded forty years ago. It was the brain-child of the then Mayor of Haifa, Mr. Aba Hushi, and his initiative was overwhelmingly welcomed and supported by the entire City Council. This theater was, in addition, Israel’s very first municipal theatre.
