New - special tours for guests of Haifa hotels staying two or more nights in the city:

Wednesday - Tour of southern Carmel including a visit to Caesarea

Thursday - Tour of the old city of Acre

Friday - Tour of Haifa including a visit to the Baha'i Gardens

Saturday - Tour of Nazareth and Lake Kinneret

All of the tours will be accompanied by an official, professional tour guide and be provided in a deluxe tourist vehicle, and they will be held in the English language.

Special price for guests of Haifa hotels: $25 per person.

HAIFA TOUR

AKKO (ACRE) TOUR
Akko is one of the oldest continually-inhabited cities in the world, and this tour takes you back in time tothe maritime capital of the Crusader kingdom,including a visit to the underground Knights’ Halls.
Deep beneath the citadel, they were built and used by the medieval Knights Hospitallers. Also manyfascinating architectural sites, including completestreets and a whole underground city complex. Add the exciting experience of a walk along the top ofthe ancient city walls, among very few around theworld that have survived violent attacks and battles almost entirely intact. Complete with watchtowersand defensive guns, the walls are exceptionally thickand the adjacent sea highlights the need for such strong fortifications.The tour route also passes through the bustling marketstreet, once the main thoroughfare of the old city and now renovated in authentic Crusader-era style. Thelively, colorful market stalls sell fresh fish, aromaticand colorful oriental herbs and spices, a huge variety of foodstuffs and many other items.In distant times the sea was the main source of incomefor Akko’s residents. Today you can still see fishermen at work and enjoy some of their catches in the manyspecialist fish restaurants, including - but not only- some well known eateries dotted along the typically Mediterranean quay, with its Mediterranean ambienceand sea views. Remains of the 800 year old Crusaderport are still visible.

CARMEL TOUR
This route takes in the original agricultural settlements established from 1886 onwards by Baron Edmond deRothschild; also the ancient sea port of Caesarea, now a major national park. Catch a glimpse of the Roman era and the rule of King Herod, complete withluxurious palaces, bathhouses and impressive culturaland entertainment sites, crowned by the Roman amphitheater where concerts and rock shows arefrequently held today.Zichron Yaakov boasts a charming traffic-free zone known as the “Wine Road”, faithfully reconstructedas in the days of the First Aliyah - the first mass Jewishimmigration to Palestine in the late 19th century - lined with restaurants, cafés, galleries, arts and craftsshops and with a quaint, relaxed atmosphere.The route takes in the large, impressive Ohel Yaakov (“Jacob’s Tent”) synagogue, one of the better knownsynagogues belonging to the settlements founded byBaron de Rothschild. Then stroll through the beautifully tended Ramat Hanadiv gardens, where the philanthropicBaron and his wife Adelaide (Ada) are buried.The tour ends at pastoral Ein Hod, Israel’s only
designated artists’ village, brimming with galleries and exhibitions, sculptures, glass works, ceramics,original designs, gifts and much more.
 
NAZARETH & SEA OF GALILEE TOUR
Nazareth’s many historic sites are among the most important in the world to Christianity: the imposingBasilica of the Annunciation was built over the remains of Mary’s home, where she received word that she would bear the baby Jesus. The vibrant old market housessome surprising hidden buildings, ancient mosques, churches and synagogues. The Mount of Precipitation (Mount of the Leap), where Jesus is purported to have escaped the angry people (according to Luke’s Gospel), offers bird’s eye views of the surrounding area. Next stop on the tour is the Sea of Galilee and a visit to Capernaum national park, including the remains of a fishing village from the 2nd Temple era, where Jesusand some of his disciples lived. Today it is home to lush green gardens, a boating harbor and a promenade. To the south of the Sea of Galilee the route takes in theYardenit Baptism site on the Jordan River, which attracts large numbers of pilgrims every year. To complete the tour, continue to Mount Arbel, a steep cliff offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Sea of Galilee and the whole of the Upper Galilee region.
